Red Guys at Night- Uh-Oh!

11 January 2010-

We're back to fantasy at long last, with weapons that don't automatically kill you (unless you're on the business end of either Jeff's axe or eMichael's cannon-like Stone Missile). This time, we've saved a local noble's son, and have been invited back to his town- a fortified border town which protects civilization from the ravages of orcs, hobgoblins, trolls, weasels, etc.

Unfortunately, the town has started experiencing some sort of weird, demonic-like possession of its inhabitants, where they turn red and sprout tentacles out of their eyes and mouths, then go about trying to kill their neighbors. It's not yet widespread, but it was prevalent enough that a bunch of baddies attacked us at the inn in which we've been staying in a frighteningly-organized assault reminiscent of a SEAL team's attempt to secure targets. They sneaked into the inn (we think), rushed up the stairs to our rooms, then busted down the doors and threw in oil lamps to cause fires. Of course, we showed them our own special brand of hospitality by killing the ones who came through the doors- but not before they grabbed several of us with their face tentacles. The tentacles were (too) easily chopped through, and we were eventually able to kill all the bad guys in our jammies, but now we're anticipating being infected with the red demon stuff. Hopefully next week will include some enlightening details.
