Plan B

15 June 2006-

After an abortive attempt to get eMike on the internet (resulting in him seeing and hearing us, but us not seeing or hearing him- Sorry, Michael!), we took stock of our situation vis a vis the lab. After tossing around the advantages and disadvantages of really nuking the area (and it says something a little disturbing about our group that we know as much of these matters as we do), we decided to just do it like the Ghostbusters of old would have- "Just get her? That was your whole plan?"- and plow through the opposition head-on. After all, our instruments were telling us that another pulse was building, and who knew what that would mean?

Once inside, the hordes of mutated critters were back, but this time we were ready with tear gas, grenades, and fully automatic weapons. Southern Cross and Rahmenka flew over the critters, while everyone else opened up on them like the rabid FPS players that many of us are. Stepping over the remains, we entered a lab area, and then passed through to an atrium, which we traversed to get down to the next level- after all, why do stairs when you can fly? Now in the food court, we peered out into the darkness, from where an ominous thumping sound was approaching- evidently, we'd moved on to the bigger, badder, Level 2 monsters (hopefully, they'll have more treasure). Unfortunately, we had to break there, so we'll see what happens next time.

OK, make sure this one gets back to Brian and Dave...

I believe the comment has been made, on more than one occasion, that our connection problems were caused by my using a Mac. Now, apparently, that "problem" was solved - the group finally got to work Windows-to-Windows. And the result?

Zip. Nada. Zero.

Anybody else want to disparage the superior technology anymore?

Yes, I'm gloating. And my next machine will have the camera AND the mic built in...
