Reconnaissance by Assault- Redux

9 December 2010~

As it turned out, the papers that we liberated from the witch's townhouse contained financial documents that led us to another site: a large mansion in the suburbs. While this more accurately fit in with our expectations (somehow, townhouses didn't really strike us as appropriate supervillain headquarters), raiding it in broad daylight seemed less subtle than we wanted to be. We contented ourselves with a quick drive-by observation and an interview with a neighbor's dog (yes, Ghost Wolf can talk to canines).

That afternoon, we planned out our assault, and that night we took advantage of the fact that many of us can fly and dropped on the house from above. We let ourselves in through an upstairs balcony, then proceeded to move methodically through the house, finding nothing- no people, no incriminating evidence, no witchcraft brewing- nothing. Then we had Jeff's wizard eyeball the place using his magical detection spells, and the front door lit up.

Feeling sheepish, we sent Kevin and Craig in through the front door, and discovered that they didn't enter the house- at least not in our dimension. They found themselves in another house entirely, with two suits of animated and hostile plate armor which tried to kill them. They defeated the armor, but have probably alerted whatever bad things lurk in that other-dimensional house. Luckily, the rest of us are on our way, and should be able to lend a hand when things hit the fan- which they pretty much always do.
