Ambush!

15 July 2009-

This week the team explored the ruins the missing scientists had been working on, finding them to be of Minbari origin, although quite old. EMichael's Minbari Ranger had some points in archaeology, as it turns out, and was able to make some good rolls, which gave us more information than the scientists would have had. The largest discovery was a vast underground room which had collapsed some time ago, which also had a large pile of debris- complete with the bodies of two human security guards.

While we were exploring this new space, we heard an explosion outside, and went out to investigate. One of the tents had been blown up, and several of the PCs saw a figure moving along the larger central dome of the camp. We headed that way at a run, and right about the time Jeff started worrying about an ambush, eMichael got shot from behind. His armored clothing absorbed most of the impact, and so he turned to fire while most of the rest of us dove for cover. There ended up being a total of four Llort attackers with gyroc rifles, which were effectively silent, but had a hard time penetrating our armor. Our PPGs, on the other hand, did less damage, but got the job done with a couple of good hits. Three bad guys down, and one who escaped. We'll try to mop that up next week!
