Delay of Game: Gallivanting

21 June 2007-

After a multiple-week hiatus (on account of the end of the school year, sickness, and a trip by two of our regulars to Spain), we finally wrapped up the second adventure in the Freeport Trilogy.

Picking up where we left off, we discovered that the new evil temple was located under the house of the city councillor who had so recently told us to get out of town. This fit perfectly into our world-view, and so when we discovered assassins upstairs having just murdered said individual, our response was more of a "High five!" than a "Have at you!" We actually let two assassins just walk away, only later discovering that they may have framed us for the murder. Oh, well, we probably would have assassinated him anyway.

Thinking that the Library was likely to become a serious target, we returned there and planned our defense, which turned out to have been a good idea. Their assault team showed up at the Library, where we hit them by surprise. Our only casualty was the centaur, who was mauled by one of their assassins, who turned up to help their grunts. He was dangerous as Hell until EMike apportated him up off the ground, whereupon he became a highly-trained pinata.

After the dust settled, the head librarian revealed to us that he's really a reptile man himself, and that there are different factions of them. Whether that's good, bad, or indifferent, we don't know yet.
