And Now for Something Completely Different...

27 June 2007-

Well, it may not be completely different, but we don't often play Star Wars, and I don't know that Craig has ever run a Star Wars adventure before, so it's at least mostly different.

It started out as many Star Wars adventures are wont to do- with us running. Our little party of Rebels, it seems, had snatched great peril (and at least a distinct possibility of defeat) from the jaws of victory, and were now on the run. With the data/plans/McGuffin in hand, we fled a squad of angry Stormtroopers through a high forest city- sort of like a science fiction version of the Ewoks' village (Ep. VI) or Lothlorien- complete with elevators and solar panels, but also sporting vines, gigantic tree trunks, and long drops to a distant forest floor.

EBill's bounty hunter dropped a thermal detonator, which took out several of our pursuers, and we blasted the rest of the squad, but this bought us only a few minutes' respite, since the local Imperial presence had been alerted, and they had scrambled some serious pursuit. We gathered our wits and headed for the spaceport, where we would catch a shuttle for the Kuari Princess, a massive interstellar cruise ship which would take us off this planet and to our rendevous with the other Rebel agents to whom we would deliver our data. When we arrived, we cleaned ourselves up as best we could, then tried to look casual as a few Stormtroopers came aboard the shuttle to check passenger travel documents. They got called off at the last minute, and we made it onto the ship, which looks to be as luxiurious as it was billed to be. If we have to be fighting the evil minions of the Empire, we can at least do so with an umbrella-enhanced drink in one hand...
